It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.... Tim drew a #2 pill that started him on the pole of heat #1. Tim was passed by some faster cars, but had a good run with Eddie Lowery for fourth. At one point, Tim slid a bit too much, and Eddie hit our car, unintentionally, in the left front tire. This straightend the car back out, and Tim continued on his way. The collision caused moderate damage to old Bessie. We bent a shock, and a ball joint, but Tim held off Eddie to finish fourth. This was his best heat race finish to date. Tim and Scooter worked hard, and got Bessie ready for the feature
Tim started the feature near the middle of the pack. The race got into the dreaded "2 laps and a yellow" mode that made picking up any spots difficult. Tim had to spin the car three times to avoid wrecks.
On one restart, another driver jumped Tim on the start, and promply got squirrly in turn 4. Tim checked up to avoid turning him around, got popped in the back by the car behind him for his trouble. This spun the car, and Eddie Lowery tried his very best, but could not avoid the car sitting on the track. Tim and Eddie actually had a good laugh after the races about how they kept running into each other (literally).
With only 3laps to go, and an unknown about of damage to the front end, Tim decided to park the car. Officially, we finished 20th.
Results for Week 2 - 4/7/01
Tim started outside on the second row for his heat race. He didn't get a good start, and was passed by 2 or three cars. He had a close race with the 45 of Pat Seymore, but he couldn't get around him. Tim needed a 5th place finish to transfer to the feature, but he could only get 6th.
Tim started on the pole for the semi-feature. He had a good start and was leading the lap, when a wreck brought out the yellow. This caused a complete restart. This happend 4 times. On the fourth restart, Tim was leading the pack into turn 3 when the second place car slid up and made contact with the nose of the cow. This turned the car around and Tim impacted the wall pretty hard. That put us out of the first race we ever led. Bessie has her nose all bloodied, but we should have her ready to go for the next race.
